Membership History
An owner or admin views the log of membership changes for a group.
Who Can Do This
The group owner and admins only. Regular members cannot access membership history.
Steps
- Open the group details page.
- Tap Membership History in the group settings section.
- Browse the log of events, most recent first.
What's Shown
Each entry in the log records a membership change event, including the timestamp and the type of event:

| Member joined | A user joined directly (no approval required) or was approved. |
| Member left | A user left the group voluntarily. |
| Member removed | A user was removed by an owner or admin. |
| Admin promoted | A member was promoted to admin by the owner. |
| Admin demoted | An admin was demoted to member by the owner. |
| Ownership transferred | Ownership was transferred to an admin. |
Rules
- History is available to the owner and all admins. Admins see the full log, not just events they were involved in.
- Events are recorded in real time as they occur. There is no delay.
- History is read-only. No entries can be edited or deleted.
- The log is retained for the lifetime of the group. It is permanently deleted when the group is deleted.
- Every entry records the actor who performed the action. This includes removals, promotions, demotions, and ownership transfers.
Failure Cases
- Group is archived: Membership history is accessible to the owner and admins in read-only mode even while the group is archived.
- Group is banned: Membership history is not accessible while the group is banned.
