Ride Sound Notifications
During an active navigation session, the app uses distinct audio tones to notify participants of ride events. Sound notifications replace push and in-app notifications for events that occur while riding, to avoid distracting the rider with visual alerts.
Who Receives These
Any participant with an active navigation session.
Overview
Sound notifications are scoped to the active ride session. They are delivered only while the participant is navigating and are not queued or replayed after the session ends.

Rules
- Sound notifications are distinct tones — they do not include voice or text.
- Sound notifications are not configurable by the participant. They always play during an active navigation session.
- Sound notifications do not replace the standard notification system for events outside an active session — those continue to use push notifications per the participant's Notification Preferences.
